Alaias are inspired by the oldest Hawaiian boards (Ah-LEI-Ah). It is a simple solid wood plank with a round beak and square tail (some variations feature fish tail). They have no fins. It is on these boards that the original magic of surfing resides.
Our alaias are handcrafted, made with Paulownia, Sumauma and Marupá woods, which are extremely light, resistant and salt water proof. This allows for a non-aggressive beeswax and tunge oil finish, resulting in the most sustainable surfboard on the planet.
